Myself (KT Coates) and Kate Whitley have joined forces to organise a charity climb to help raise money for Debbie Plowman who tragically fell from the pole at Christmas and is now paralysed from the neck down and still has 2 children aged 2 and 5 to support. She can not breath with out the help of a ventilator, she can not talk and can only communicate by blinking.

This has moved us so much as its something that could happen to any of us, so we would like to invite any one from around the world that is related to the pole dancing industry to join us on a charity fund raiser to raise £40,000 to help make Debbie’s life a little more comfortable and help in her hopefully rehabilitation.

Debbie has also inspired us to create our own charity endorsed by the International Pole Sports Federation – The Pole Sports Benevolent Fund. The charity is run by a group of volunteers for pole dancers by pole dancers. It will give pole dancers the opportunity to apply for grants in times of need or to create non-profit pole dance events or activities. We decided to do this after many years of fund raising for charity’s that were happy to take our money but not happy to be associated with the pole industry, this way we will be supporting each other.

The event details:

8-18th September 2011
Kilimanjaro - Tanzania
Minimum fund raising amount of £3000 - £1850 covers the cost of the trip, £1150 goes directly to Debbie
The Person/school to raise the most will win a fantastic prize
We are looking for 35 people to take part and 20 places have gone already

People shouldn’t panic about the amount of money that needs to be raised as there is over a year to raise it and pole dancing schools/individuals can create events to help generate sponsorship. If any one would like to sponsor me I would be grateful.
